Are you perfect?

Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:48

That’s a text we don’t usually hear preached in services. Yet it still remains to be in the Bible and if we claim to follow Jesus and all that He tells us to do then I have to wonder why this is a text that so many fear quoting. Perhaps they figure if they don’t teach on it then they can be free to not follow it. Many people who have taught me in the past definitely do not believe it’s possible to even do. They always say “Only Jesus is perfect.” And they are partially correct. Jesus is perfect, and so are we, when we come to believe that He removed ALL of our transgressions, taken them out of our way nailing them to the cross.

If a tree had fallen in the road this would cause me to be unable to cross the road. If the tree were taken out of my way then I would be free to cross the road. So why is it when we read Colossians 2:13,14 we don’t believe that Jesus actually did this for us?

image

I’m going to venture to explain why I didn’t believe this for so long. There are several excuses. One was because no one else taught that, and when I finally saw through the eyes of the Spirit that we are indeed FREE from sin, those who were in the church longer than me repeatedly told me that I would always sin, that we would never be perfect. Quoting Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,. What they haven’t been taught, so they quote it as they have been quoted to, is that this passage is describing how there is no distinction between who receives the justification through their Faith. If you continue to verse 24 it says: being justified as a gift by His grace through redemption which is in Christ Jesus. Justified means to be acquitted, to be declared innocent, guiltless.

The key for this justification to take place is hidden in verse 22 ‘for those who believe, again not how verse 23 is ever quoted. I ask that you take the time to read Romans 3 today on your own asking the Holy Spirit of God to reveal to you the TRUE meaning as the what is written. This requires you to throw away everything, including this post, you have ever heard before. Go to it with no preconceived notions and simply allow God to speak to you. He is calling out His children. It is time for the Sons of God to be revealed.

Galatians 3:26,27 says For you are all sons of God through your faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothes yourselves with Christ. If I have faith that Jesus took ALL of my transgressions, sins, out of my way then I an FREE to live without the fear of SIN. Why? Well because perfect LOVE casts out fear because fear means punishment, and I am free from ever being punished because there is no condemnation for those who are IN Christ Jesus, Romans 8:1 . I am a Daughter of God, and this means I am blameless before my Lord through the blood of Jesus Christ. He died once for ALL, when He returns He will not be removing sins again. He already did that. Our only requirement in this life is to BELIEVE IN THE ONE WHOM HE SENT. John 6:29

I know this is hard to believe that you can indeed live life perfect as Jesus, free from sin. That is why we require FAITH. Our eyes tell us we are still the same flesh, yet by FAITH we know that we have indeed died when Christ died, and through Gods Spirit are we raised to life. Romans 8:9-11 (read Romans 8)

So I leave you with a challenge. I challenge you to throw away everything you have ever learned, at least for today. Open your bible to the texts that I have suggested and ask God to reveal to you if indeed Jesus did take ALL your sins from you. To reveal to you the lies that you have believed that have kept you in bondage that you are unable to live a life without sin. Friends our God is a GOOD God, Jesus died ONCE, do not ask Him to die again because you don’t believe that His blood was enough. Be Free from sin. Be perfect as our Father in Heaven is perfect.

Be free from sin!

Jesus took ALL our sins to the cross, Colossians 2:13,14. Once we come to Him and are baptized into His death, and His life, we need not ask for forgiveness everyday. We’ve already BEEN renewed. Sin is put to death, 1John 3:9. If there is still flesh fighting then we need to seek to put the deeds of the body to death, Romans 8:13. But to keep asking for forgiveness is to say what Jesus did wasn’t enough for all of our sins, Hebrews 10:29. We are NEW. Free from sin, if Jesus Christ does in deed live IN you.

Colossians 2:13-14 NASB

When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

1 John 3:9 NASB

No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Romans 8:12-13 NASB

So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh- for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Hebrews 10:29 NASB

How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

What if we are wrong?

I knew this year would be a game changer for me. During prayer and fasting God revealed to me that if I were serious about receiving and giving love it would require digging deep within and change. I thought we were going to drudge up painful memories, and to a degree we have, but it’s always been through LOVE.
image

Why did I think it would be worse? Because I had a jaded view of God. I believed God killed, I believe God was to blame for the things of Satan, without realizing it.

When I submitted to God showing me the ways that were not of Him, I began to see others as He sees them. I began to see Him IN others, even when they were unable to behave like Him.

Jesus said to love your enemies. Because the truth is, the only enemy to God is unbelief, and how can they believe God is love if I am hating them?

To see me is to see Christ. This is the standard that we must all attain to in our thinking. When we are polluting our minds with the world, we are unable to look at a situation with the eyes of Christ, we are tainted by our world view.

God says thou shall NOT kill. Moses taught an eye for an eye. Jesus said to be angry with another you have already committed murder. Who is God? Moses or Jesus?

We don’t really believe Jesus, we say we do but our actions and thoughts truly reveal to us what is within our hearts. The question is, what do we do when we see that our ways are conflicting with the Ways of Christ?

Are we truly willing to lay down our lives and pick up our Cross? Are we truly willing to turn the other cheek when someone wrongs us? Or do we set up boundaries and cut them out of our lives? Do we purchase guns to protect our families? Do we believe that God is even real? That His power is so great He can create this entire planet but can’t protect little ole us?

We have tainted our water, {Spirit} with the ways of this world, and we must allow God to reveal to us what is hidden deep within. We can either submit to Him through His word or we can trust that He will show us through a friend who is speaking the Word. But what we do with the revelation is all up to US.

I have a heavy heart for those who call Jesus Lord, yet hate their brothers. Truth is Jesus Christ took ALL the sins of the WORLD to the grave with Him. So when we believe someone is deserving death through our actions, we are not acting in love but in hate. We are all brothers and sisters, born of God….wake up and claim what is yours and allow the Spirit of God to purge you with Fire and make you blameless and pure…NOW, because when Jesus comes back He is not dealing with sin. He did that already.

Do you know who you are?

When I began to listen to the Spirit all I kept hearing and seeing was “Know who I (God) say you are” or “Know your identity in Christ.” So I began searching the Scriptures to see who God says that I am. And want to know what I have discovered?

The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. Romans 8:16,17

9 But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light ; 10 for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD ; you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY. 1 Peter 2:9,10

6 I said, “You are gods, And all of you are sons of the Most High. Psalms 82:6

This last one is the one that really causes me to pull back…that is until I read:

17 “For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality nor take a bribe. Deuteronomy 10:17
Could this be true, that He is talking about US? Well here in Revelations I read:
16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelations 19:16
And we all know that Jesus is in fact OUR King, and in Peter we read that we are Kings….so then let me ask you, do you believe this?

My post is short…for now….because I want to leave you with these scriptures, and challenge you to search them as well, asking the Spirit of God to grant you Wisdom and Understanding, and I beg of you to believe the TRUTH before your eyes, friends you and I are Royalty from the Most High God. Deeply Loved and cherished, marked off before the Creation of the Heavens and Earth. I love you!

Prune the lies, bring me the TRUTH!

image

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit; He ‘prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.” John 15:1,2

At the end of Luke 12 Jesus says ” From everyone whom much is given, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.”

I have always taken the first verse as a comforting verse when I lose yet again another friend who promises to always be there. But today I read this, as many teachers have been receiving this Word as well. The pruning I believe He is speaking to me this time around is the pruning of bad teaching. The pruning of well meaning encouraging words given by well meaning teachers that too many people take as truth.

This morning I read a statement on a marriage thread that says a husband and wife should be permitted to complain to one another. (paraphrase) Immediately I heard within my heart, where God has placed His truth. Do everything without complaining. So I do what I normally do, get my bible app out and get the verse then copy and paste. Address that this is a well meaning saying but to be careful the advice you take because Scripture says: Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the judge is standing right at the door. James 5:9 and Phillipians 2:14-16

Now I have not yet attain this truth, but this does not make it any less true. It IS attainable because it is spoken to those whom the Holy Spirit of God reside. And we can do ALL things through Christ who gives us strength.

How about you, do you give advice that is well meaning but totally NOT from the Word of God. We need to be careful friends, we could be meaning to comfort another, yet we dig a ditch for them and ourselves. We are to be perfect as our Father in Heaven is perfect. We CAN attain this because GOD lives IN us, if indeed Christ is in you.

So why then do we do this? I think we are fearful of believing what is written above, Be perfect as Our Father is perfect. That word perfect scares us. But here is the beautiful truth. It’s attainable for me and for you! God said so and He is not a liar, nor did HE tell us to do things that are not possible, with HIM. There is the KEY, do you believe that GOD lives IN you? Then friends this is possible, we have to PRUNE the lies we have allowed to keep us with blame and blemish and come to the Father and confess we have been believing man over HIM, that we are weak without HIS PRESENCE guiding our every thought and action. Thank Him for forgiving us for all of those sins, and for loving us so deeply. Ask God to remove the dead branches from your thinking and allow Him to teach you mighty things we do not know.

you will be glad you did….but remember we must acknowledge that there is more to know about God, and we must be humble to receive the truth, even if the one bringing it is someone whom we think we are better than. (heart check my friends)

Your husband is your Maker….

image

‘For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the LORD of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth.” Isaiah 54:5

I’ve quoted this a lot these past few weeks. Especially when talking about the relationship between me and my husband. (pictured above)

There is a quote that one of my friends sent me years ago, before I ever fell in love with God. It says: “A woman must be so lost in God that any man must go through Him in order to find her.” This quote really changed me and my heart over the years. Today I send this same quote to my single girl friends, in hope they will see the TRUTH that lies within.

When Chadd an I were first married we were both on fire for the Lord. Then life began to snatch away the Word and put out our fire. I resented my husband and our relationship. As time went on God began to slowly reveal to me that I was in fact the problem, not Chadd. I put too much pressure on him, I expected too much from him as my husband and the father of my children. Eventually everything broke and I learned that my husband is in fact my Maker.

When I no longer put the expectation on Chadd to fill me, I was able to find fulfillment from the ONLY one capable of filling me, God. Then Chadd was able to add to the ‘overflow’ and I was able to love him exactly where he was. Which this caused him to become the man that I have yearned for all along.

This past weekend I realized just how much I truly love this man. He was away for a mens retreat and I missed him terribly. I also realized while he was away that I haven’t allowed myself to really love him. I’ve kept him at a distance, afraid that he would disappoint me. And last night when we were laying in bed, guess what happened….I felt disappointed. I became angry and hurt. What does this mean? Well it means that I didn’t get what I wanted. James 4:1,2 tell us that we quarrel because we do not get what we want. So when I begin to argue with my husband, Holy Spirit reminds me of this and I begin to allow Wisdom to bring me understanding. As Proverbs 8 describes Wisdom to be a woman, she is very gentle in the way she reminds me that I am not here to be served but to serve, and my husband in the flesh is not here to serve me but to serve others. We are a unit yes, but ultimately we are here to help bring the Kingdom of God here, not to fulfill our fleshly desires.

Ladies, I want to first pray for you. Ask that God pour out the Holy Spirit within your hearts and allow Wisdom and Understanding to come to you as it has me, gently and lovingly. God knows what we need and He does lavish us with love and affection, sometimes through a song, a friend, a book. But when the time comes He will lavish us with the fleshly love we desire. I believe it’s up to us to continue to seek God first and allow the love that others give us to be an overflow.

Remember, our Maker is our Husband.

Oh How He Loves US!

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21

Last week during Bible study we discussed the Garden of Gethsemane for a brief moment. I believe today this moment was brief because God knew the impact this was having within me and it was a process that He wants me to swallow slowly. Even as I write this my eyes are filled with tears.

The Garden of Gethsemane
36 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to His disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be grieved and distressed. 38 Then He said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death ; remain here and keep watch with Me.” 39 And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.” Matthew 26:36-39

Up until this moment I have always imagined these moments of grief were due to the upcoming torture He would endure for us. Which I still agree this was partially true. But what the Spirit opened my eyes and heart to was what this first scripture says. Jesus didn’t just take our sin from us, but he BECAME SIN. Our sins became His own.

Think about the worst moment of guilt you’ve ever endured, now try to acknowledge the guilt of a murder of a child, a rapist, and so on. They personally may not ever feel guilty but you know that the man Jesus bore their guilt, every single sin EVER He became. And still as He hung on that cross bleeding and suffocating to death, He cried out to God “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.”

People ask “Where is God in all this suffering?” Today I pray for these people, I pray that they encounter a supernatural love that over powers the darkness within them. See my friends, these people who are ‘evil’ in your eyes, are children in the eyes of our God. Jesus took their sins also, so when Jesus said ‘love your enemies’ He meant it because the thing is, He LOVES them just as much as He loves you and me.

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13

Father God, Thank you! My Lord Jesus Christ, Thank you! I love you! More than I can even comprehend, I love you! And yet you love me more!

love someone today, especially yourself, forgive someone today, especially yourself, Jesus DOES!

“We are surrounded by moths seeking the Light, You are to be that Light”

image

“We are surrounded by moths seeking the Light, You are to be that Light”

A moth goes through the same process as a butterfly, only they are nocturnal creatures. I find this very interesting considering so many Christians believe in Jesus Christ, yet they are still lost in the dark. They believe they are free, but they still repent and ask forgiveness each time they sin. They do not truly believe that ALL of their sins have been forgiven so therefore they are still striving to be free from sin.

That statement above was one that was given to me during a time of fasting and prayer. I had recently learned about the Chrysalis stage of a butterfly and moth, and agreed within my Spirit that this stage, also known as the ‘larva’ stage, is very much what sanctification is like. We are no longer crawling on our stomachs living with and as the serpent, but have come into the belief that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. But this next stage, the Chrysalis stage is one where the most dramatic change is occurring, yet it appears to be dead. As it stays hidden within the cocoon a transformation is happening.

When we begin to truly discover the mystery of Christ IN us, we begin to go through a dramatic change within. Although our outside appearance stays the same, everything else that we once knew to be true begins to transform. This transformation for me was the most terrifying and painful time I’ve ever experienced. I like the Chrysalis felt trapped in the dark, I had no clue at the time what God was actually doing to my mind. To others I appeared to have lost it, and I must admit I myself also thought many times “ok this is it I’ve gone completely nuts”.

Little did I know that what was actually happening was the death of my old self, or I should say the awakening of my New Self, my old self died on the cross when Jesus agreed to take it upon Him and nailed it to the cross. I held on to this old self and this caused the war to continue within my mind, and eventually leaking out onto others. This process has cost me friendships, but the gain which is Christ is worth everything. As Paul says I consider it all loss.

I am a New Creation and the Light of Jesus is within me, I am the Light of the World, and those who are seeking truth, are finding it within me. I was no one before Jesus, today I am a Daughter of God. (see Galatians 4) Chosen before the creation of the world. (see Romans 8) Here is a secret….so are you. All of your sins have been nailed to the Cross, you are a son or daughter of the King, co-heirs with Christ. You are FREE from sin, your old self died on the cross, Jesus took all of your sins as His own so you wouldn’t have to suffer without God (aka wrath of God). All that is required of you is to believe in Him who the Father has sent. The Will of the Father is for you to Behold the Son and Believe in Him. (see John 6)

God is calling his Children to rise up and take what is theirs, what Jesus won back for us, our birthright as CHILDREN of GOD! Sons and Daughters.
