”Comfort, O comfort My people,” says your God. “Speak kindly to Jerusalem; And call out to her, that her warfare has ended, That her iniquity has been removed, That she has received of the Lord’s hand Double for all her sins.”
Isaiah 40:1-2 NASB
My prayer for you is to read this and believe it. Your warfare HAS ended. He who is in you is greater. Walk in your power.
That her iniquity HAS been removed. This is the one that so many say “I’m saved” and then with the same mouth say “I’m a sinner”. Then what have you been saved from?
from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way.
James 3:10 NASB
Do you not know that when you were baptized you were baptized into Christ’s death? (See Romans 6) That by being baptized into His death you agree that He did in fact take your flesh as His own. Your SIN as HIS OWN on the Cross.
Hold on to that for a moment. Resonate with the image of Christ hanging on the cross. Is He still there? On the Cross? Are we still there with Him at that Cross?
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us-for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree “-
Galatians 3:13 NASB
Are you still on the Cross? Cursed? Full of sin? Dead? Denying Christ and what He has done? Claiming you are a sinner, you are your mistakes, you are your flesh. Are you still hanging on the Cross?
For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin.
Romans 6:5-7 NASB
Or have you risen with your God? Are you seated with Him? Have you been born again of the Spirit? Have you truly agreed in your baptism that your FLESH HAS DIED? Because HE WHO HAS DIED IS FREE FROM SIN.
Do you know who you are? Today?
However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
Romans 8:9-10 NASB
There’s a reason the word IF is said so much about your identity in Romans 8. Because many do not believe Jesus did what He said He did. Many teach you every week that you are still a sinner. Yet this says he who has died is freed from sin. Is this claiming it’s only for those who have left this planet? Do we get a chance to read the bible to learn how to walk in the Spirit after we’ve died physically?
Or is Roman 7 explaining the battle that now occurs when your mind begins to believe that you, that which is Spirit, cannot sin, but your flesh that is no longer you because it was crucified with Christ still battles for control?
No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1 John 3:9 NASB
Friends, if you have been baptized without this understanding than I challenge you to go back to the scriptures. Specifically Romans 6 gain true understanding about your baptism, read Romans 7 about the battle the occurs when your mind is battling the death of your flesh, and continue to Romans 8 to see who you truly are. Free from condemnation, you are Spirit, Sons of God. Then go to 1 John and read why we need to admit we were our flesh, we need Jesus to destroy our flesh, and then finish the book and see that those who keep you bound to your sin are sons of the devil. You are no longer your flesh, no longer stuck in your iniquity. You and I have been redeemed.
For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.” Then He said to her, “Your sins have been forgiven.” And He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
Luke 7:47-48, 50 NASB
Remember who you are…
