“You’re a stay-at-home mom? What do you DO all day?”

"You're a stay-at-home mom? What do you DO all day?".

Almost cried reading this!

Penny for your thoughts!

How can I put into words what this weekend was like? This is what was joked about early in the morning as we stand around simmering coals while worshipping our Lord and Savior, surrounded by the heavenly Angels, moments after proclaiming the names of those that we are in agreement will be proclaiming that Jesus is Lord.

This weekend I finally came together and met face to face the family that God has created for me first in Spirit, and manifested via Facebook. Ultimately we are the family of the Great I AM….physically we are the family of I AM MBK (see www.MBKinternational.com).

We didn’t ask what denomination we were from, we simply asked is Jesus Christ Lord in your life and with a resounding YES our souls united and we were living out ACTS. Whatever the other needed we gladly gave, we broke bread, we sang praise, we prayed, we cried, we confessed, we laid hands, we welcomed the Holy Spirit, and felt the Heavenly Presence of the Angels around us. We celebrated Sabbath the way God intended and welcomed in over 20 souls in Jesus Name.

But what’s so beautiful is this morning God walked me through all of it in a sermon to my daughter. As we were walking through the camp site picking up the trash left behind she found a penny and we both repeated the old saying “See a penny pick it up and all day long you’ll have good luck.” She then began to say what the “world” has added to this rhyme. “Brighton (her brother) says if you see a penny on tales….” I immediately finished her statement  with a “yes honey I know, but can I tell you something…..” and then He began…. (btw she said she didn’t believe that anyway and always picked it up…that’s my girl)

They say if it’s on heads it’s good luck, and if it’s on tales it’s bad luck so don’t pick it up. Does the side of the penny take away the value of the penny? She answered No of course. So if I pick it up on heads I’ve gained a penny, if I pick it up on tales I’m still up a penny. But if the penny is on tales and I walk away I’m without a penny. How is it that I have gained any kind of luck if walking away from the money leaves me without? It seems to me that the LIE that was placed in this old saying has convinced us that since it’s just a penny, which we all know that’s not a lot of money, it’s not worth the chance of getting bad luck. However say there are 2 people and one lives by the original sayings and picks up all 50 pennies that she walks by, and then there is a boy that only picks the 25 that are heads up. Which of those two would have the higher value of money? Seems to me that this little white lie has caused us to walk away from something worth more than nothing, and by doing so the one without luck is in fact the one who thinks everything has to be a certain way before it will bring true value. If only we saw how this leaked into our lives and how many treasures we have walked away from because the package didn’t appear the way we wanted it. Sounds a lot like the way the Jews didn’t like the way the Messiah appeared and decided His treasure was worthless and chose to kill him instead.

How does this tie into this weekend? Well here is how….because of the different levels of Faith that were gathered there were some teachings that were being spoken about that some couldn’t understand. Does this mean that what was taught wasn’t true….well that all depends on how you receive truth….do you strictly gain knowledge only from Scripture? Or do you believe God when He says in Scripture that ALL of GODS CREATION proclaims Gods GLORY? Because I am Gods Creation and I am made in the image of God and if I am being given revelation by God through the trees that are surrounding me does that make what I am saying less valuable because this exact moment isn’t detailed in the Bible? Or would I gain something if I were to believe that GOD uses HIS CREATION to proclaim HIS Glory? Am I getting caught up in the way something is packaged or am I allowing GOD to use ALL of HIS CREATION to reflect and proclaim HIM? Am I allowing the Spirit of TRUTH to be MY detector….do I even BELIEVE that I CAN test the SPIRITS? DO I EVEN BELIEVE THE BIBLE FOR THAT MATTER?

This weekend I became a RICH woman. I opened my mind and Spirit up to God and allowed HIM to be MY sifter and what HE wanted me to receive He has placed within HIS SPIRIT within ME. At the end of the day JESUS CHRIST is MY LORD and SAVIOR and the SPIRIT OF GOD LIVES IN ME AND HE GIVES ME TRUTH AND I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN. THIS WEEKEND I BECAME THE CHURCH WITH OTHERS OF THE CHURCH AND I PRAY THAT I NEVER EVER SHUT THE DOOR ON ANY OF GODS MESSENGERS. I love every moment of this weekend. Heads or Tales doesn’t matter because the VALUE is the SAME! Each way I gain more and more of Jesus Christ! I am a RICH RICH WOMAN.

What about you?

Another life lesson given through my children

A couple weeks ago I posted a blog that was inspired from my study time with my 7yr old son Tristan. We are currently doing a plan through www.YouVersion.com called “The Book of Daniel with Kids” (To read earlier post click here) today we are on day 14 Chapter 4:28-37 The Dream is Fulfilled (click here to read about the dream warning the King, and the consequences for disobedience Chapter 4)

These last few lines of King Nebuchadnezzar’s letter “to the peoples, nations and men of every language, who live in all the world” (that includes you and me btw), he talks about what God did to him because of his disobedience to heed the warning given one year earlier. God tells him that he will basically make him a crazy, grass eating, homeless man. That 7 years will pass before he will learn the lesson that God rules every kingdom on earth.

I paused and ask Tristan why he thought God said it would be 7 years and the king couldn’t learn his lesson sooner with all these warnings. His answer makes my heart smile so much.

“Because God knows what’s going to happen at anytime, in the future or the past.”

Friends, do you know how important this truth is? Do you understand the security that is being built within his heart knowing this at 7 years old? I don’t write this to boast about my parenting, because I drop the ball with him big time. But what I will boast about is the wisdom that God has given me through painful experiences of tragic deaths, divorce, abuse, and a life filled with darkness, to teach my children.

Because I grew up without the Lord I know what a difference choosing Him makes on families. The pain and destruction that passes on to generation after generation. God has shown me through my life and the lives of my family, what will happen again if I do not heed His instructions and build a foundation so solid and so deep that nothing and no one will be able to destroy it.

What about you? Have you suffered in this life? Do you feel as if you have been given the short end of the stick? Friend, may I remind you that God uses the lowly to do His work. God has never forsaken you…EVER. He knew every ounce of pain that you endured. He has a purpose for it…if you would just choose to believe that He is a GOOD GOD, and ALL POWERFUL GOD, and a GOD THAT LOVES YOU TO THE CROSS AND BACK! Trust HIM!

At the end of the kings 7 years God restored his sanity, honor, and kingdom. He ruled his people under Gods authority and warns you at the end of verse 37 that those of us who walk in pride God is able to humble.

God is in control. I know it appears that He isn’t, but I assure you that not a moment passes that He does not have TOTAL control. This is my plea to all the parents who happen to be reading this…. do not allow another day to go by without asking God to help you raise the children He entrusted you with. If you are living a life that is unpleasing to Him, STOP! Your warning is here….God has seen the evil that we are allowing to consume our lives and the lives of our children. God has already Won. Victory is His. He has already predestined our children to be victorious.

Will we choose to see this life as our own, or will we pick up our cross as parents and seek Gods help in raising His Kings and Queens? I pray that you and I will build up our children so that no lies will ever destroy them.

God teaches me through my children

I love the way God teaches me through my children.

Tristan and I are going through a plan on www.YouVersion.com titled “The Book of Daniel with kids” it is 22 days long and we are on day 3. Today I yet again had to read through Daniel 1, and to be honest I complained. (Philippians 2:14 do everything without complaining… oops) I’m ready to get into the meat of this book and wanted to move on. Remember the title…My God showed me that I had been missing the meat He had for Tristan and I in chapter 1. The exact “meat” that God had been revealing at a deeper level in my husband and I for the last few weeks. That GOD is in ALL things…GOOD AND BAD.

Tristan and I read the International Children’s Bible (ICB), which I personally recommend for all children (even some adults). (The link above however is the closest they have online which is NCV) Here are a few of the key verses that helped me explain to him, and remind myself, about Gods Sovereignty.

  1. 1:2 – The Lord allowed Nebuchadnezzar to capture Jehoiakim king of Judah.
  2. 1:9 – God made Ashpenaz want to be kind and merciful to Daniel.
  3. 1:12,13- “Daniel said to the guard, “Please give us this test for ten days: Don’t give us anything but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then after the ten days compare us with the other young men who eat the king’s food. See for yourself who looks healthier. Then you judge for yourself how you want to treat us your servants.”
  4. 1:17 – (a)God gave these four men wisdom and the ability to learn. They learned many kind of things people had written and studied. (b)Daniel could also understand all kinds of visions and dreams.

In these first two verse we see God working. God allowed the king to be captured, and I can imagine that the men of Nebuchadnezzar weren’t too gentle when they were capturing him. Yet, what I want to point out is that GOD ALLOWED it to happen. In Romans 8:28 we are told that God works ALL things for GOOD, for those who love God and are called to His purpose. We are ALL called to live out Gods purpose, but not all love God. I mention this because I want anyone who is reading this to understand that there is an expectation that we are all called to when we ask Jesus Christ to be our Lord. The Holy Spirit will strengthen you as you walk in obedience to Gods call on your life, and you will WANT to live out this expectation with a desire that you’ve never had for anything else in your life. (If you’re not experiencing this, then it is possible you have not truly accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Pray about this and reach out to someone who can guide you into this relationship.)

Back on topic, the second verse God gave me a beautiful analogy to give to Tristan to see if He understood where we are. Imagine some one’s heart is dark, yet in the center of it there is a small Light. This small Light is placed there by God. Now imagine the heart of Gods children, it is filled with Light. When we are filled with a room filled with those who have dark hearts, what will happen to the one heart that has a small Light when we live the way God tells us to? Blessed his heart (& mine) he knew the answer. “That Light will grow” All throughout the Old and New Testament we are told that we will have trouble in this life. But in john 16:33 we are given a promise, Jesus has already overcome this world. The end of our life here is already written and given to us. Jesus is the Light of this World, and His Spirit now lives IN US. Therefore, WE are the LIGHT of THIS world. We are to SHINE HIS LIGHT, especially in the darkest of situations. We never know who God has placed a small seed of Light in, just waiting for one of His Children to Be the LIGHT that they were freely given.

The third verse shows us this Light that Daniel displayed. He knew that He was the mouth piece for himself, and these 3 other men of God. He also knew that they were to be trained for 3 years. He respectively asked to be tested for 10 of the 1095 days and if they were not pleased then the 4 men would do as they asked. Daniel knew that God was with them, and His way was best. By doing this Daniel honored God and saved the 3 men as well as the guard and chief officer Ashpenaz.

The last verse has two parts. Because of Daniel’s obedience to Gods ways all four men were given wisdom and the ability to learn the things needed in order to ultimately fulfill Gods purpose for the men of Judah to be captured. In 1:20b it says that Nebuchadnezzar found that these men were 10x’s better than all the fortune-tellers and magicians in his kingdom. These 4 men stood out above all the rest because they had Gods blessings. But it was Daniel who had an extra amount of anointing. He was also able to understand all kinds of dreams and visions. Daniel’s life up to this point is very similar to the life of Joseph. Both men were held in captivity, both men honored God in their actions and both men were given gifts that would advance them in the eyes of their captors.

I want to end this by going back to the men of Judah that were captured. It doesn’t say here in Chapter one how many of these men were captured, but as I turn to Numbers 2:3 it tells me that there were 74,600 in the camp of Judah. Different time, but I’m using this as a reference point. That’s a lot of men, and only 4 of them were chosen to Shine Gods Light in the lives of their enemies.

Friends, the odds may be stacked against you according the standard of the our enemy, the world. BUT….the LIGHT that is IN YOU was placed there so that YOU would influence those around you, whom God placed there. Jesus came so that ALL would be saved, so whether that person seems good or bad, the seed of Light is in them….waiting for someone to Shine so that their Light will grow. God will place us each in situations that will challenge and sometimes terrify us. But I pray that you stand firm in Truth. That the spirit of fear is not from God, therefore has no true power over you or I. Fear is a LIE, the belief of this lie is how this fear was created. We break this lie with TRUTH. Know your fears, and then seek out the TRUTH so break this fear.

The World needs to see YOUR LIGHT. God has called you and I to be the Light of the World. This is why Jesus died for us, so that each of us would gain access to the Father….we are called to Shine in the dark. Know that NOTHING happens in this world that God is not aware of. He does not create nor need to use the bad in order to advance His plan. He will however allow it, which means He has already planned the GOOD to come out of it. (see Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28, Genesis 50:20) Jesus is the Anchor of our souls.

Oh, one last thing…spend time with children…let God teach you through them. They understand more than we think.

~sometimes I just gotta write~

When I change who I am, I’m changing who God created me to be.

Last night Kayla went to bed upset because she tried to answer like Tristan because that seemed to make me happy. But she said when she does that it only gets me upset. I told her that I didn’t want her to be anyone other than her. Because when she changes who she is than she changes who God made her to be.

I knew later on those words would be lingering within my heart, and sure enough as I drover to wendy’s I said them to myself.

“He doesn’t want you to be like anyone else. He doesn’t want me to change who I am when I am experiencing Him within me and all around me.”

The lessons he uses the kids, mostly Kayla for me, leave me with a guilt because she has to suffer in order for me to see. However, it also causes the quickest response in repentance because I can’t bare to see my babies suffer any more hurt because of my sin. So today’s lesson for my Spirit to surrender to The Holy Spirit and let go of the fear that has kept me from being me.
