For He who has died is free from sin….

Recently I was told that some fellow believers once gathered together to pray against my belief in my forgiveness of sins, as of today. That I was no longer a sinner but born again and no longer identify ME as my flesh but as one with Christ, as Spirit. As well me having left the teaching of men within the church establishment.

At first this bothered me that I was even told this because it was unnecessary for me to know that because of their unbelief they prayed against me.

But as the days have gone on and I thought of this I’ve always been reminded of the story in Acts, instead of me paraphrasing I’ll just share it.

But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross. He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.”  But when they heard this, they were cut to the quick and intended to kill them. But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the Law, respected by all the people, stood up in the Council and gave orders to put the men outside for a short time. And he said to them, “Men of Israel, take care what you propose to do with these men. For some time ago Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody, and a group of about four hundred men joined up with him. But he was killed, and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing. After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census and drew away some people after him; he too perished, and all those who followed him were scattered. So in the present case, I say to you, stay away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or action is of men, it will be overthrown; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; or else you may even be found fighting against God.”

Acts 5:29‭-‬39 NASB

I rejoice always when I see my life reflected within the scriptures. It’s been years since the Holy Spirit has taught me through His Spirit and confirmed with the written Truth that I am indeed FREE and am no longer a slave to sin. And can live my life no longer identifying with the filth of my flesh as who I am.

And one of these who prayed against me had come to know this truth as well. So as it says in Acts “but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; or else you may even be fighting against God.”

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Romans 8:14 NASB

We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.

1 John 5:18 NASB

You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him. Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.

1 John 3:5‭-‬10 NASB

For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin. ⬅⬅⬅⬅

Romans 6:5‭-‬7 NASB

So I ask, have you, your flesh died?

Are we even speaking the same language?

I only speak English so if someone were to speak Spanish to me I would possibly catch a few words of what they’re saying but ultimately wouldn’t truly understand what they were trying to tell me.

This is what happens when believers try speaking to those who don’t have ears to hear or a heart to understand. Therefore they hurl insults at you because you believe something that is foreign to them.

“Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Matthew 5:11 NASB

Stand firm in your beliefs and resist responding to their insults knowing that they simply didn’t understand what you were saying.

When we get into an argument over our beliefs we both lose, when it’s done online, which we all know that’s when the powerful keyboarders come out with fingers flaring. Those who look on lose also.

Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of God not to wrangle about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness,
2 Timothy 2:14‭-‬16 NASB

Friends there will be a time for us to speak and there will be a time for us to remain silent. Pray diligently for discernment on which is which. Not everyone sees as we see nor do they wish to.

Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. Matthew 7:6 NASB

Be blessed

Words Matter

My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them And health to all their body. Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth And put devious speech far from you.

Proverbs 4:20‭-‬24 NASB

If His Words give life, what do you think happens when we have a deceitful mouth and devious speech?

We must guard what we say, sing, and think. What we hear and allow to take root in our hearts and minds MATTER.

Her sins are many…

It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all.

1 Timothy 1:15 NASB

Have you ever looked at an old picture of yourself and thought “WOW, if only people knew just how lost I was behind that smile?”

This is my current Facebook profile picture. It came up on my ‘memories’ and I thought how appropriate for the frame they have saying “Saved by His Amazing Grace” so I posted it.

I can’t stop looking at it with such gratitude. Knowing that in that moment I was an alcoholic stripper, having an emotional online affair with a married man, and had no idea who Jesus was.

For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.”

Luke 7:47 NASB

Today, 12 years later I sing His praises and rejoice at the life He redeemed me from.

He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the Lord .

Psalms 40:2‭-‬3 NASB

I don’t hide my past from others. I hope to never forget how far I’ve fallen. I desire to stay empathetic to those who are broken and lost in darkness. To show them that He is a Good God and desires that we ALL be saved through the blood of Jesus Christ.

I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins.

Isaiah 43:25 NASB

Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. You will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God. Moreover, I will save you from all your uncleanness; and I will call for the grain and multiply it, and I will not bring a famine on you.

Ezekiel 36:26‭-‬29 NASB

Then He said to her, “Your sins have been forgiven.”  And He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

Luke 7:48‭, ‬50 NASB

Focus on the Good

Have you ever had a powerful week in the Lord and then BAM someone comes at you with hateful words?

Words that run through your mind and even though you know those words are filled with anger and hate they still manage to take up residence within your mind and heart?

This happened to me recently. As I lay in bed thinking about what was said about me, contemplating the truth to what was said. Because let’s face it, sometimes the truth can be delivered by those who dislike you. Also, why does it bother us so much if there isn’t a possibility of it being true.

But God…

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, “Why are you thinking evil in your hearts?

Matthew 9:4 NASB

When you have God’s Word hidden in your heart He will speak truth over you. This is what He spoke to me while my mind and heart became obsessed and bitter.

I’m aware of my ways. I’m aware of my enemies. And truth is so is Satan. He knows the thorns I have. He knows who to use and what they need to say to get my eyes distracted from God and on my flesh.

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.

James 3:14‭-‬16 NASB

Everything that comes from me dwelling on what was said is demonic. Period. This is why it’s so important that we continually check our thoughts. Submit them to Christ. Be on alert because the devil is always seeking to destroy that which is pure within.

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.

James 3:17 NASB

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord , my rock and my Redeemer.

Psalms 19:14 NASB

Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth And put devious speech far from you.

Proverbs 4:23‭-‬24 NASB

Friends, it’s important that we guard our thoughts, and what we speak over ourselves.

The enemy is always accusing the Children of God. We must not agree with what is spoken in hate. These words are demonic. Do not entertain such words. Focus on what is true, honorable, worthy, peaceable and pure. These things are from your Father.

Today I pray for you and I. I pray that we refuse to give the devil a foothold in our hearts and minds. That we guard them diligently and continually submit all thoughts to Christ and only allow His Words which bring peace take root within.

And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

James 3:18 NASB

A perfect person is One with Christ

A perfect person is One with Christ.

John 17:22-23 NASB

The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one;  I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.

Remember the flesh profits nothing. We don’t appraise the things of the flesh but that of the Spirit and bc of that those born again are perfect.

1 John 4:15-17 NASB

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.

Because as He is, so also are we in this world.

We as born again children have to be careful what we claim as US, we are not our flesh.

Romans 8:9-10 NASB

However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

John 3:6 NASB

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Why does this matter?

Matthew 12:37 NASB

For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

John 9:31 NASB

We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him.

Stop claiming to be sinners. If you have been baptized in water and Spirit your old self HAS died.

Romans 6:3-7 NASB

Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin.

Many are afraid to accept this and use these texts to keep ahold of their sinful nature.

1 John 1:8, 10 NASB

If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

Forgetting that 1 John continues, and refuses to see these following text that was in the middle of these two texts.

1 John 1:9 NASB

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Remember we have to repent of our old thinking we have to admit as carnal (flesh) we were sinners. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, which is death, sin. Many refused to believe Jesus when He told them they needed to be freed from sin.

John 8:31-33 NASB

So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;  and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”  They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?”

What I want you to see is Jesus spoke this to the Jews “who HAD believed Him. Just like today many believe Jesus but refuse to continue in HIS Words of freedom. They WANT to stay in their sin.

When Jesus returns He is not going to then clean you from your sins, He already did that at the cross.

Hebrews 9:28 NASB

so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.

Know who you truly are!

Matthew 5:48 NASB

Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Jesus is the cure

Do you have those days when you wake before your body says you’re ready? The dogs are going non stop, and the devil is right there just waiting to ruin the rest of your day? This morning as I cleaned up puppy pee for the 5th time within an hour I grumbled not so nice thoughts about this 8 week old puppy. Turned on my phone clicked on Facebook and read “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation” then I read a post about addiction and how an addict struggles every day for the rest of their life. Talk about a sweet reminder from my Daddy about who I am and where I’ve come from.

I left a comment on the post and in not so many words said Jesus is the cure from addiction.

Do you believe that? That Jesus is the cure? That our grumbling can be cured? Scripture says to do everything without complaining, and I know that if there is a command to do something, I CAN do it with Christ. So He is the cure. But how is this even possible? Well when I took out my bible a card from my precious Kayla fell out and it has Philippians 4:8 on it “ Whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.”

Our thoughts will manifest. We have to submit every thought to Christ. If it does NOT line up with Jesus Christ than WE must cast it down. That’s right folks, WE MUST CAST IT DOWN. God will give us the weapon of His word to do so but it must first begin with us desiring to cast it down.

Many times we get caught up in the “whining” that we just wallow in it. I know you know what I’m talking about. Man is that pit so easy to fall into….because it’s a hidden pit isn’t it? One that hides within our minds. One that no one else can even see to help guide us out. This is why it is SO vital that we have the word hidden within our hearts so that we won’t sin against the Lord.

Many people today are so addicted to sermons and devotionals that they don’t know the Word for themselves. They are unprepared for the war that they are in. They are always seeking for someone else to explain it to them. Friends, this has got to stop. YOU need to be the WISE virgin in the parable of the 10 virgins (see Matthew 25:1-13). We are told that NO temptation is too great for us, that God has prepared a way out. Then why do so many of us fall into temptation? Because we do not KNOW HIS WORD. We know mans words. Man interpretation of HIS Word. (ps. JESUS IS THE WORD…many of you do not know JESUS)

My challenge to you is still the same as it was before. FAST from ALL other teachings and stick to the Word and the Spirit to teach you. Stop leaning on the teachings of another….whether you realize this or not….you are addicted to the mixed wine being poured out. Seek truth. You have the mind of Christ if you are a new creation, believe Him and know He will give you all wisdom.

~sometimes I just gotta write~

It is written…

I was once consumed with books. My home holds over 600+ and my Nook an additional 500+. Now I haven’t read them all but had hoped one day I would. Then last February during a 10 day fast from sleep and food (would catch a couple hours every 3 days or so) I had several experiences that I’ve never truly been able to explain. It has been a pivotal turning point within in my walk to say the least. During one of these days I felt as if I had a fresh baptism of the Spirit of Truth. It was pressed upon me so intensely that everything had to be truth, there couldn’t even be a partial truth spoken because one wrong word could change everything. Eve changed what God had told them and death seeped into all mankind. This is also the time when I was told that all I ever needed to leave my children was the Bible. That all the other books were pointless and would only confuse them. His Word was all I Needed.

It took me a month before I finally felt that this was true. And for almost a year now I’ve been on a fast from all other teachings. Slowly I let go of devotionals only reading ones that I felt led to. Weeding out sermons, commentaries, and everything else that watered down what was already written. And today I have never felt more mental peace and security in my life. Mainly though the clarity and confidence in what I know now is unshakable.

God has always been my teacher. He has assured the way for me to hear His Voice and I no longer need another to affirm what He has told me.

The text that inspired this over share is:

Ecclesiastes 12:12 NASB

But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body.

I remember when I first read this my selfishness rejected what it said. Today as I read these words, and see the weariness still within others who go to other books and sermons for comfort I can’t help but say “Wish I would’ve listen sooner”
It is written…Go to Him and let everything else Go.

Isaiah 26:3-4 NASB

“The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. “Trust in the Lord forever, For in God the Lord , we have an everlasting Rock.

I encourage you to fast from all other teachings for 7 days (or more, preferably more) and only read Scripture allowing the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. Believing He will as it is written in James. Your belief changes everything and when you begin to weed out the chaff that has been planted within your mind, May you SEE who YOU truly are! Blessings friends. (Ps. Fasting even means from blogs like this.)

Stop believing the Devil

Yesterday I read a blog from someone who is living abroad, building up the church. It’s mostly about their new life over there getting used to the customs, quite entertaining. Until I read those words that just make my blood boil, “I’ll never be perfect.” As you can imagine I stopped reading and began praying for them, and all they come in contact with. Last night at study we began with John 17, where Jesus is praying for us. God knew I needed to get this off my chest and would need some Words from Him so I didn’t spend the entire blog speaking my own words.

The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and you in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. John 17:22,23

Now I ask you, how can we show them the Father was indeed IN Jesus, if we are NOT IN Jesus? How can we be IN Christ unless we are perfect? Friends, we have got to throw away the devils doctrine and wake up to what Jesus said….IS SAYING to US today. WAKE UP O’Sleeper! The devil has deceived us with the Word of God and is continuing to deceive millions of people who believe they are saved, yet proudly talk about how worthless and sinful they are….WHAT??? How can God who is PERFECT dwell within YOU and you NOT be perfect?

No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he CANNOT sin, because he is born of God. 1 John 3:9

Perfect is to be WITHOUT SIN! Knowing whom you are IN Christ, we are ONE with Christ, not a separated part of Him. We are in Him and He is in Us…..if you believe that He truly took your sins to the grave, then you are without SIN. The ONLY sin left is UNBELIEF. Which is exactly what kept the Israelites from entering the Promise Land, see Hebrews 3:19. Which is why BELIEF is so important to salvation. Believing every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, which is The Lord Jesus Christ.

I truly cannot even tell you how frustrated I am to hear these lies taught to my brothers and sisters. Their birthright is being stolen, just as Satan stole it from Adam, he is yet again stealing it from the Children of God.

Jesus came to buy back our birthright, stop allowing the devil to deceive you. Read the Word of God and believe that you are FREE from sin. If you believe that Jesus truly did accomplish what He said He did on the cross.

Trust the Word

image

Trust. This 5 letter word holds so much power doesn’t it? Without it nothing really works between two creatures, whether human or animal. But with it…..nothing can stop it.

I’ve had my trust broken so many times by so many different types of relationships. Friends, Family, Spouses, and children. As I’m sure many reading this have also endured broken trust.

What about our trust in God’s Word? I trust God’s Word emphatically, what I don’t always trust is the person who is delivering it. I believe this is biblical, 1 John 4 Talks about testing the spirits to see whether they are from God. People have spirits, and we are to test them to see if they are indeed from God. Friends, I believe too many times we forget that the devil knows scripture, that the devil comes disguised as light, and can perform miracles as well.

No matter how long you may have taken advice or teachings from someone I want to challenge you to test their spirit. Ask them to back up what they are saying by scripture.

Recently I have been taught some pretty intense, but absolutely freeing texts within the Word of God and as I am coming out talking about this some are open, yet others refuse to agree with it. The sad part is they think they are disagreeing with me, when I show them in black and white that this is what the Word says. Yet they still hold on to their beliefs. This is sad. They say they believe God’s Word yet when you present them with the text they try to argue away what it is saying. I always hear within my Spirit “do not harden your hearts when you hear His voice”.

I guess this short note is just to open each of you up to being open to learning something new within the word. Go to it with eyes willing to see what the Spirit of God wants to reveal to you. The seals have been broken and the mystery has been revealed, and He did say that He would reveal them to infants, to those who the wise would consider unworthy. Don’t allow your pride keep you from receiving the truth. John 10:10 says that the thief comes to steal and destroy, but Jesus came to give life, abundantly. Be sure not to walk with the destroyer and cast off the truth of freedom within the Word, simply because you don’t like the one who is bringing the message to you.
