Tribulation

You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.

1 Thessalonians 1:6‭-‬7 NASB

Have you ever been ministering/mentoring a new believer and when they begin to joyfully walk in the Word that was given to them they immediately had trials thrust upon them?

We’re always ready to blame the enemy for these trials. I’m so guilty of this. I just did this a couple days ago. But today as I began reading this jumped out at me. And quickly I was reminded of the time when I first came boldly to the Lord and how many trials were thrown at me. I blamed the enemy believing he was trying to steal my joy, cause me to stumble. Never did I consider that these trials were placed to strengthen me and allow be to become an example to other believers.

Which explains why we rejoice in ALL things. Because we know that the Lord is strengthening us. There’s no storm or trial too big to change how this story ends.

Just a little thought from my morning study.

Be blessed.

I love Jesus!

I love Jesus so much. I truly get overwhelmed with emotion when I think about all that He’s given me. He’s rescued me from. Taught me. Shown me. But most of all, I love Him because of who He is and who I am because of who He is.

I didn’t grow up knowing God. It wasn’t until almost my 30s did I truly start desiring a life with Him. Even still I had no idea who Jesus really was.

Until the day I said out loud “I don’t even know who Jesus is” I can remember where I stood in my back yard. As if God had made sure to take a snapshot of the day His baby girl was ready to know Him and Herself.

To say getting to know Jesus was easy would be a lie. Romans 7 talks about the battle we have with our flesh and our Spirit and this battle happens witjin our mind. Unfortunately for me, and I’m assuming most, it bled out through my actions. I was so double minded holding on to my flesh and having such an agonizing death of it.

It took almost 3 years to truly die to MYSELF, 3 years after confessing the sin of unbelief.

My mind was always mine to take hold of. The mind of Christ is ours, it’s our PROMISE LAND. We’ve just got to believe in the PROMISES He’s given us.

Today, I rejoice in those horrendous years. Without them I wouldn’t know the beauty that I possess today. Knowing who I AM, knowing who Jesus is, is truly the sweetest gift God can give us.

The Promise land is ours for the taking. And today I pray if you struggle with unbelief in any area you confess and begin the process of coming to know Him as He truly is, GOD. And knowing who you are in HIM, ONE.

I love Jesus and this is one of the many reasons why.

Another side to consider

Today I’m going to talk about things that aren’t 🍑.

But He said to him, “Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:60

What does this mean to you? I mean really read it. “Allow the dead to bury their own“. Is Jesus talking about actual dead people burying other dead people? Of course not because that not possible. He’s speaking about spiritually dead people burying their own.

So then let’s consider this for a moment.

A wife is bound as long as her husband lives; but if her husband is dead, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.

(Hmm but there’s no way he could be talking about spiritually because that’s never the case, right?)

But in my opinion she is happier if she remains as she is; and I think that I also have the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 7:39‭-‬40

I just threw that last part in there because well I agree with his opinion as well.

This next part is where you’ll probably disagree with me, if you haven’t already and that’s OK. I’m still going to share this because I know there are women (&men) out there bound to dead husband’s (&wives) and fear leaving them due to the backlash of their “church” community. The condemnation they will receive. Guess they haven’t read Romans 8:1.

If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.

When you are married to a spiritually dead spouse they do not posses the Spirit of Christ and are continually used by Satan to get you to sin, you need to consider this passage.

Now I’m not one who picks and chooses and I don’t think it’s coincidence that the very next passage is about “divorce”.

“It was said, ‘Whoever  sends his wife away, let him give her a certificate of divorce;  but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the reason of unchastity, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Matthew 5:30‭-‬32 NASB

unchaste

[uhn-cheyst]

adjective

  1. not chaste; not virtuous; not pure:an unchaste woman.

  2. characterized by sexual suggestiveness, transgression, or excess; lascivious; bawdy:

Now these are physical terms. A human can’t spiritually be unchaste can they?

Well let’s talk through this. When we become united with our spouse the two become ONE and this is through marriage. When we become ONE with Christ this is through marriage with Him, yes? So then if our spouse has become ONE with the Spirit of Satan, then why wouldn’t this mean the same thing? Our human/carnal mind keeps us from seeing Jesus’s words as Spirit. But we have to be careful because Jesus is the one who said: But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.  God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4:23‭-‬24 NASB

Like I stated earlier I’m writing this because I know many are struggling to listen to what they know they are being led to do because of everything man has taught on how God views divorce. And it’s good that they are considering how God views it because we should NEVER take divorce lightly, but we need to see how HE considers it and not how man has taught it.

There will always be physical consequences when a man and woman divorce but it is not an unforgivable sin. Sometimes we need to make sure we wrestle through the Scriptures asking God to give us wisdom, asking Him to silence all flesh so we can hear His voice. He is a God of LOVE and will guide you to the answer that He is speaking to you daily.

To anyone this speaks to I leave you with this.

Fear not, for you will not be put to shame; And do not feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced; But you will forget the shame of your youth, And the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. “For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth. “For the Lord has called you, Like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, Even like a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,” Says your God.

Isaiah 54:4‭-‬6 NASB

Incorruptible Love

Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love.

Ephesians 6:24 NASB

This morning this word stood out to me. I’ve read this text hundreds of times and yet today was the first time I noticed this specific word, incorruptible

Then I asked myself ‘do they love Him with incorruptible love‘ they being those who struggle with worldly things. Do they have TRUE undying, unbreakable, everlasting LOVE for our Lord Jesus Christ?

Because I know when I doubted in His love for me my world would get so dark and lonely. But the moment I saw me as He sees me that’s when my love for HIM became incorruptible. Truly. That’s when the bad didn’t seem so bad and the dark wasn’t so dark. The pits of despair were no more and the thoughts of defeat never take root.

My eyes are always set upon His Promises. I trust God. I believe God. I Know God. Therefore, my love truly is incorruptible. Never will anyone or anything, no matter how tragic and painful, make me doubt the GOODNESS of my Jesus Christ. He has promised to guard what is HIS. My flesh may suffer but that will return to dust, my Spirit will always be united with my Father who is in Heaven.

The World today has become a puppet show from the puppet master Satan himself. Wars are created through words and hate and unforgiveness. They’re blind to the reality of the war raging against their spirits. Their love is corrupted, they have forgotten who has created them, who has sacrificed Himself for them. They have forgotten.

Have you? Are you participating in the war of words? I have to wonder if you believe you have the power to create life with those words you hurl at others. Or if you’re participating in death, in our Fathers name. Because I assure you Jesus is LOVE and if your words are leaving them worse than when you met, you are under the wrong spirit my friend.

Choose to trust in Him. Choose to Love as Him.

If your love truly is incorruptible then Grace is with you. Share it with them. Shine His light by your actions. Be as He is. Choose Love.

– sometimes I just gotta write

Sweet Words

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about. Arise, O Lord ; save me, O my God! For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.

Psalms 3:6‭-‬7 NASB

Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 NASB

I believe.

He listens to me

I love the Lord , because He hears My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.

Psalms 116:1‭-‬2 NASB

It was so easy for me to fall in love with God. He listens to me. He would answer my broken cries in ways that were so personal and direct that I couldn’t deny His Presence in my life.

As the youngest child, and the only girl. I lived an internal life growing up. No one quite understanding who I was or taking the time to hear what I had to say.

As a teenager I was an overly emotional kid. And this only grew my internal struggle. As a young wife and mother in a relationship that started on so many troubled levels. I always strived to be accepted and heard that I again lost my voice.

As I came to the Lord I knew deep down that I desired for my children and other women to be HEARD.

For me it’s the most painful scars I have. One that I guard fiercly.

Not being heard.

It provokes my flesh like no other within my current marriage.

Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:11‭-‬12 NASB

Although my mind knows our battles are the devils schemes, and he is not a gentlemen and will use this pain as a weapon to destroy, it makes my ache no less painful.

My scars are REAL. My pain is REAL. And my battle needs to be real as well. By knowing how the devil is using my pain as a weapon helps to arm me with the TRUTH of this pain. Its my flesh. And my flesh will always be hostile towards God. So when the enemy can get me to focus on myself and my pain then he steals my joy. Like John 10:10 says He will.

So what do we do in times like this? Just act as if nothing’s happened? No. Denying it makes it grow. Face it. Make your spouse aware that they’re being used by the enemy to hurt you. Pray that your spouse begins to guard himself and his words by seeking God. Period. That’s how you defeat this enemy is by seeking God. Apologies are good, but if your anything like me your rather action be the apology as words can be empty when not followed up with action.

Then you get your heart into God’s hands and embrace the TRUTH that He listens to you and He loves you completely, as you are His bride.

For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth.

Isaiah 54:5 NASB

After you’ve both allowed God to speak to your hearts then come together and let God guide your conversations. Always Seek God.

They’re watching

Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6 NASB

As parents it’s our responsibility to raise our children in the way they should go.

Do they see you lying to your friends, co-workers,  or their other parent? Do they see you taking the easy way out? Do they hear you gossip to your friends? Do they see you getting drunk? Do they see you dating person after person? Do they see you having sleep overs without being married? Do they see you texting while driving?

They’re watching you to train them in the way they should go.

Do you praise God when things go right, how about when they go wrong? Do you trust in God when times get hard or are you consumed in your emotions?

Children are sponges. They absorb what they see more than what you say.

Be on guard when you live as a parent because you’re raising someones spouse, your grandbabies parents.

Choose to live by example and care more about who they become versus what you want.

Choose them over you.

Are you denying Jesus?

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:1 NASB

Recently, I’ve been thinking about how we use God’s written word. On others and ourselves.

First let’s talk about how we use it towards others.

You can always sense the context in which someone speaks it or posts it on Social Media.

You can feel the indignantion within what is written. Most likely from a previous hurt or offence. Although the scripture justifies what they’re feeling, you have to wonder if God wasn’t trying to show them the thorn in their flesh that they’re holding onto, hoping to free them from this. But instead they use it as a weapon to hurt the other person.

And although the word is a weapon (Ephesian 6:17), it’s not to be used against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).

God says to remove the LOG  (plank) from our own eye before we attempt to remove the SPECK from another. The difference in description of these two items is enormous and purposeful, it’s how He speaks to gently say “HEY YOU’VE GOT BIGGER PROBLEMS THAN THEM”.

Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?  Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye?  You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
Matthew 7:3‭-‬5 NASB

Consider this the next time someone hurts or wrongs you and you make a vague post with scripture in hopes they see it.

As far as how you use it on yourself…..

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.  But there are some of you who do not believe.”

John 6:63,64a
Our FLESH profits nothing from the Spirit and the Spirit gives life. Jesus says here that the words He has spoken are SPIRIT and LIFE.

Your flesh hates His written words….hence the guilt. The fear almost of coming to the scriptures when you have walked in your flesh. Fearful of what you will read.

Friends, God’s Words give LIFE to our SPIRITS. They’re never meant to CONDEMN who you are, Spirit.

When you condemn yourself because of what your flesh has done you’re agreeing that you are your flesh. You are taking that sin on as your own. You are agreeing with Satan that you ARE a sinner. You deserve condemnation, punishment, and pain.

You are denying what Jesus HAS done FOR you at the CROSS.

When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.

Colossians 2:13‭-‬15 NASB

Denying your FREEDOM, FORGIVENESS, NEWNESS in Christ.

You get caught in a cycle of lies that you’re unworthy, unholy, filthy. Your mind is set on the flesh. And the mind set on the flesh is hostile towards God, therefore you cannot believe HIM.

For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so,  and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
Romans 8:6‭-‬9 NASB

You MUST get the LOG (or PLANK) out of your eye because it’s blinding you from the TRUTH that your flesh HAS already been CRUCIFIED with Christ and there is NO condemnation for YOU.

This is why is so vital that we handle the Word of Truth so diligently because we can miss the Truth that we are indeed walking by the FLESH and not the SPIRIT.

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15 NASB
The next time your mind slips to your flesh let us thank our Father that He has FREED you from your FLESH. Let’s thank Him that you are NO longer identified as your FLESH and thank Him for nailing it to the cross, taking it out of the way so you can freely WALK in the newness of Christ’s Spirit. Thank Him for going before you and lighting your path with His Word.

Be cautious not to get caught up in apologizing for this sin. By doing this you are agreeing that you are indeed guilty, and Jesus didn’t take ALL of the sins of the WORLD at the cross.

Remember who you are…

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Romans 8:14 NASB

Know who you Are!

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

2 Corinthians 4:3,4 NASB
God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Genesis 1:27 NASB
Of this church I was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints, to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Colossians 1:25-27 NASB
We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.

Colossians 1:28 NASB
The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one;  I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.

John 17:22‭-‬23 NASB
Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Matthew 5:48 NASB
By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.

1 John 4:17 NASB

Best lies are 99% true

**I DO NOT AGREE 100% WITH THIS PICTURE, READ WHY**

image

The problem with this post is its not identifying what part of you makes the mistakes.

One of the “famous” texts used to keep us bound in our sins is Romans 7 where Paul discusses the war that now rages on inside the mind after the death of the old self in baptism  (which is explained in Romans 6). What is over looked is this: Romans 7:17-18 NASB

So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.

For I know that nothing good dwells in me, (IT KEEPS GOING) that is, IN MY FLESH; for the willing is present in me

(Matthew 26:41 NASB

Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; {the spirit is willing}, but the flesh is weak.”)

This is so dangerous to ignore. What is also dangerous is not to continue in Paul’s speaking and explaining the process of new birth of who YOU truly are in Romans 8. YOU are NOT your flesh. You are (if Christ actually lives in you) SPIRIT and you are to be led by the Spirit not the flesh.

Romans 8:9 NASB

However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

So if your FLESH makes mistakes God’s mercy in your weakness is there, but the mercy is for your remembrance of what He HAS done, and who you are.

2 Peter 1:1-8 explains the qualities you ought to have for godliness and this next verse explains what happens when you don’t.

2 Peter 1:9 NASB

For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having {forgotten} his purification from his former sins.

This is why we are to continually renew our minds, Romans 12:1, keep our mind on things above, Colossians 3, and encourage one another as long as it’s called TODAY

Hebrews 3:13 NASB

But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

Sin is UNBELIEF. THIS IS THE ROOT OF ALL SIN. EVER. UNBELIEF.

Hebrews 3:19 NASB

So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.

Do not bind yourself to the unbelief in what Jesus has already done. You are NOT your flesh. You have to stop SAYING “I make mistakes” or “I sin everyday”

Matthew 12:37 NASB

For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

1 John 3:9 NASB

No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

YOUR OLD MAN, OLD SELF, FLESH which HAS been crucified with Christ is the sinner, YOU are born again of SPIRIT.

John 3:5-7 NASB

Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’

Romans 8:14 NASB

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Separate yourself from your flesh. Speak LIFE and TRUTH over who you are. KNOW who YOU are and CLAIM THIS TRUTH. That old self is dead. Be born again. Do not be yoked to slavery again.

Galatians 5:1 NASB

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

These partial truths will destroy. Whatever you bind (hold onto) on earth you bind in heaven. If you claim to be the sinner then you will perish with the sinners. Even if you go to church.

Matthew 7:22-23 NASB

Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’  And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me , you who practice lawlessness .’

Jesus is not a liar, He warned YOU to let go of the lawless man, and be born again of HIM. This is how you KNOW Him.

The best lies are 99% true. His mercies are new everyday and His love never fails, but YOU Child of God do not make mistakes your old man did, let them die and live in Christ.
