Another side to consider

Today I’m going to talk about things that aren’t 🍑.

But He said to him, “Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:60

What does this mean to you? I mean really read it. “Allow the dead to bury their own“. Is Jesus talking about actual dead people burying other dead people? Of course not because that not possible. He’s speaking about spiritually dead people burying their own.

So then let’s consider this for a moment.

A wife is bound as long as her husband lives; but if her husband is dead, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.

(Hmm but there’s no way he could be talking about spiritually because that’s never the case, right?)

But in my opinion she is happier if she remains as she is; and I think that I also have the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 7:39‭-‬40

I just threw that last part in there because well I agree with his opinion as well.

This next part is where you’ll probably disagree with me, if you haven’t already and that’s OK. I’m still going to share this because I know there are women (&men) out there bound to dead husband’s (&wives) and fear leaving them due to the backlash of their “church” community. The condemnation they will receive. Guess they haven’t read Romans 8:1.

If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.

When you are married to a spiritually dead spouse they do not posses the Spirit of Christ and are continually used by Satan to get you to sin, you need to consider this passage.

Now I’m not one who picks and chooses and I don’t think it’s coincidence that the very next passage is about “divorce”.

“It was said, ‘Whoever  sends his wife away, let him give her a certificate of divorce;  but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the reason of unchastity, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Matthew 5:30‭-‬32 NASB

unchaste

[uhn-cheyst]

adjective

  1. not chaste; not virtuous; not pure:an unchaste woman.

  2. characterized by sexual suggestiveness, transgression, or excess; lascivious; bawdy:

Now these are physical terms. A human can’t spiritually be unchaste can they?

Well let’s talk through this. When we become united with our spouse the two become ONE and this is through marriage. When we become ONE with Christ this is through marriage with Him, yes? So then if our spouse has become ONE with the Spirit of Satan, then why wouldn’t this mean the same thing? Our human/carnal mind keeps us from seeing Jesus’s words as Spirit. But we have to be careful because Jesus is the one who said: But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.  God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4:23‭-‬24 NASB

Like I stated earlier I’m writing this because I know many are struggling to listen to what they know they are being led to do because of everything man has taught on how God views divorce. And it’s good that they are considering how God views it because we should NEVER take divorce lightly, but we need to see how HE considers it and not how man has taught it.

There will always be physical consequences when a man and woman divorce but it is not an unforgivable sin. Sometimes we need to make sure we wrestle through the Scriptures asking God to give us wisdom, asking Him to silence all flesh so we can hear His voice. He is a God of LOVE and will guide you to the answer that He is speaking to you daily.

To anyone this speaks to I leave you with this.

Fear not, for you will not be put to shame; And do not feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced; But you will forget the shame of your youth, And the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. “For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth. “For the Lord has called you, Like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, Even like a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,” Says your God.

Isaiah 54:4‭-‬6 NASB

His Words are better

There are days the Lord takes me on a journey through His written Word.

I don’t try to explain it, merely record it.

Here is his sweetness from today.

Be blessed 💖 May you hear what He has to say.
For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,

Romans 8:6

Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

Colossians 3:2

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:2

No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.

2 Timothy 2:4

Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.

Proverbs 4:23

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord , my rock and my Redeemer.

Psalms 19:14 NASB

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!

Philippians 4:4

Sharing is caring

Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat;  but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”

Luke 22:31‭-‬32 NASB

I was given this text days ago and wasn’t sure the message He wanted me to share behind it until just now.

Last night I felt led to share some of the trials that my husband and I are currently (see here) in. As I was writing I knew this would bless others as well as honor God with what He’s doing in our lives.

God is good. Always. He is working ALL things for GOOD, for those who love Him and are called for His purpose (paraphrase Romans 8:28).

My marriage has absolutely been through a season of sifting and after reading about how they sifted wheat in the old days I couldn’t be more positive that this passage is genuinely what we’ve been going through. And if I am to be His Light and Shine His love to others lost in the darkness then I’ve got to get real when I’m knee deep in the muck and mire.

Not in anger or pain but in gratitude that no matter what this flesh tries to bind me to my eyes and heart are always going to refocus and get back on my God. And because of that I TRUST in HIM and HIS promises. So I share. I share so others lost in the muck see that they too can find their hope in Christ, even though it seems they may have failed Him.

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 5:16 NASB

If you are currently in the muck know that I have prayed for you to focus your eyes back on your Father. Focus your heart back on Him who Loves you.

God is Good. Always. Trust Him. You have not been forsaken.

What shall we Do?

What will we do in times like this?

Are you seated in Christ?

Have you been born again?

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

Colossians 3:1‭-‬2 NASB

Our instructions are clear.

My son, do not forget my teaching, But let your heart keep my commandments; For length of days and years of life And peace they will add to you. Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute In the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones.

Proverbs 3:1‭-‬8 NASB

Lastly, hold firm to the Truth.

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33 NASB

He knows my ways

I dream intense dreams. Ones that linger throughout my mind during the day. I’ve dreamt of things to come and have received many messages in them.

Recently I have been blessed amongst the chaos of my dreams.

Once I was so drunk I could barely see and someone proceeded to tell me about how the “Universe” wanted me to do something or other and I interrupted her and said “I appreciate the gesture but I live for Jesus Christ not the universe so you just wasting your words”.

Last night there were animals attacking and terror all around. As I sat in a room with a father and a son the father was so hard on his child using the scripture to condemn him. When he was done I could see the hurt in the child. I held him and whispered “God is Spirit therefore His Words are meant to be read as Spirit. Let go of what was just spoken and read what your Heavenly Father says”. The child began to search the scriptures and joy and happiness came back to his face.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts;

Psalms 139:23 NASB

I share this with you because God shows me that amongst the world, amongst the mistakes, the chaos, the attacks by the letter He has searched my heart and knows my ways. In my dreams I confess Him always.

“Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 10:32 NASB

His message is still the same as when I began writing again. Continue to seek Him first. He will guide our Ways. He will comfort our hearts. He will show us who we are in Him.

I pray you have eyes to see your true heart. Your true Father. I pray you remember who you are.

Sweet Words

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about. Arise, O Lord ; save me, O my God! For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.

Psalms 3:6‭-‬7 NASB

Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 NASB

I believe.

He listens to me

I love the Lord , because He hears My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.

Psalms 116:1‭-‬2 NASB

It was so easy for me to fall in love with God. He listens to me. He would answer my broken cries in ways that were so personal and direct that I couldn’t deny His Presence in my life.

As the youngest child, and the only girl. I lived an internal life growing up. No one quite understanding who I was or taking the time to hear what I had to say.

As a teenager I was an overly emotional kid. And this only grew my internal struggle. As a young wife and mother in a relationship that started on so many troubled levels. I always strived to be accepted and heard that I again lost my voice.

As I came to the Lord I knew deep down that I desired for my children and other women to be HEARD.

For me it’s the most painful scars I have. One that I guard fiercly.

Not being heard.

It provokes my flesh like no other within my current marriage.

Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:11‭-‬12 NASB

Although my mind knows our battles are the devils schemes, and he is not a gentlemen and will use this pain as a weapon to destroy, it makes my ache no less painful.

My scars are REAL. My pain is REAL. And my battle needs to be real as well. By knowing how the devil is using my pain as a weapon helps to arm me with the TRUTH of this pain. Its my flesh. And my flesh will always be hostile towards God. So when the enemy can get me to focus on myself and my pain then he steals my joy. Like John 10:10 says He will.

So what do we do in times like this? Just act as if nothing’s happened? No. Denying it makes it grow. Face it. Make your spouse aware that they’re being used by the enemy to hurt you. Pray that your spouse begins to guard himself and his words by seeking God. Period. That’s how you defeat this enemy is by seeking God. Apologies are good, but if your anything like me your rather action be the apology as words can be empty when not followed up with action.

Then you get your heart into God’s hands and embrace the TRUTH that He listens to you and He loves you completely, as you are His bride.

For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth.

Isaiah 54:5 NASB

After you’ve both allowed God to speak to your hearts then come together and let God guide your conversations. Always Seek God.

They’re watching

Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6 NASB

As parents it’s our responsibility to raise our children in the way they should go.

Do they see you lying to your friends, co-workers,  or their other parent? Do they see you taking the easy way out? Do they hear you gossip to your friends? Do they see you getting drunk? Do they see you dating person after person? Do they see you having sleep overs without being married? Do they see you texting while driving?

They’re watching you to train them in the way they should go.

Do you praise God when things go right, how about when they go wrong? Do you trust in God when times get hard or are you consumed in your emotions?

Children are sponges. They absorb what they see more than what you say.

Be on guard when you live as a parent because you’re raising someones spouse, your grandbabies parents.

Choose to live by example and care more about who they become versus what you want.

Choose them over you.

Do you believe Jesus?

1 John 1:8-10 NASB

If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

It amazes me when people oppose the message of their freedom from sin. This text is ALWAYS brought up. Yet they don’t even understand what they are reading. And they also stop reading 1 John and reject the rest. Would you read the first chapter of a book and write a conclusion on it from that first chapter? NO! You would continue reading and draw your conclusion from the ENTIRE book. So why do believers in Jesus stop at the first chapter?????

We ALL have sinned, in Adam. Yet we are ALL justified to life in Jesus. I HAVE sinned in my flesh, the part of me that was born of Adam. I have confessed this to be true, and have been baptized into the death of Jesus Christ, agreeing that my carnal man, that which Adam cursed to sin, HAS been crucified WITH Christ. And that I NOW live by the Spirit of God. I am now living as Spirit and not flesh therefore I am free from the flesh which is hostile towards God. (Romans 6 discusses the true baptism) so I now am able to proceed past 1 John 1 and claim the remaining chapters. I believe every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth, therefore I am free and not a slave to sin. This is available for ALL men through Jesus Christ. Do you believe this?

In this world you have tribulation, so where is peace?

image

Many believe as I once did that a life with God will be filled with ups and downs and good days and bad. But is this really true? Many times in scriptures we read that God will lead us to still waters, give us green pastures, protect us from harm, give us living water and the bread of life. He will make our paths straight, and not crooked. This morning I was given two scriptures to back up what I had left on a friends post on Facebook.

Here are the passages.

John 16:33 NASB

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.

“In Jesus you have peace”
“In the world you have tribulation”
“Jesus has overcome the ‘world'” (hold on to that one for the next one)

1 John 5:18-19 NASB

We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

“The whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (Jesus has overcome the power of the evil one)
“Those born of God (have His Spirit in them) is kept by God and the evil one “does NOT” touch him”

So it seems to me that God rescues us from trouble of the world, and if we have trouble perhaps we aren’t in God but still in the world? Maybe the next time things are falling out from under us we ought to first ask ourselves am I still living in the world? It is hard to truly die to self and the world, but life with God isn’t hard.
