Can we talk about money for a minute? 🤔💸

Can we talk about money for a minute? 🤔💸

As believers we are continually hearing “The Love of Money is the root of all evil”

For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Timothy 6:10 NASB

But can we focus on one single word that is so overlooked, LOVE.

The LOVE of Money. Then Timothy goes on to say “some have wandered from the faith longing for it”

This has and can absolutely happen. Many times we can lose sight of why we desired to have financial security.

BUT……… MONEY itself is NOT evil. It’s your motives towards the money.

We NEED money to live in the United States. We NEED money to EAT, PROVIDE SHELTER, PROVIDE MEDICAL CARE, & so many other things.

Then we have those who God gives a calling to. To provide for orphans, adoption, ministries, widows, missions & so much more.

Those desires require MONEY. Whether you fundraise for the money or are able to pay for these things on your own they require MONEY.

So many of us have such an awful subconscious towards money. When we don’t have it we will say things like “I hate money” hence you’re generating the energy and belief that money is BAD. So guess what you don’t have coming to you? Yup money, bc money is BAD & God isn’t trying to provide you with what’s bad. Or we blame money for our problems “ugh money causes so many problems” no it’s YOUR belief about money that’s creating a problem. The problem is your discontentment without the money. Your belief that the money will provide contentment.

Paul tells us that he has learned to be CONTENT with plenty and with little. So he keeps his heart free from the LOVE of Money.

Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.

Philippians 4:11‭-‬12 NASB

But he doesn’t say MONEY is the problem.

So let’s flip the coin for a moment.

Furthermore, as for every man to whom God has #given riches and wealth, He has also #empowered him to eat from them and to receive his reward and rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God. For he will not often consider the years of his life, because God keeps him occupied with the gladness of his heart.

Ecclesiastes 5:19‭-‬20 NASB

God keeps him occupied with the gladness of his heart. 💜👑

Imagine being able to GO without hesitation when God puts a DESIRE in your heart.

Imagine being able to GIVE without hesitation when God puts a DESIRE in your heart.

Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalms 37:4 NASB

Imagine being able to LIVE without having to STRESS over essentials like bills, debt, & medical emergencies.

Friends MONEY is NOT the enemy.

Your HEART 💜 has and will always be the area that needs to be addressed.

Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. 💧

Proverbs 4:23 NASB

A wife, yet lonely

Today my heart is for the lonely wife. The one who is seen and not heard. Who has become misunderstood and feels isolated. Unsafe. Unloved. My Spirit prays for YOU. I leave these words in hopes that you will know that you are SEEN & HEARD, LOVED, SECURE & SAFE. NOT FORGOTTEN OR OVER LOOKED.

But now, thus says the Lord , your Creator, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine! “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you. “For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I have given Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in your place. “Since you are precious in My sight, Since you are honored and I love you, I will give other men in your place and other peoples in exchange for your life. “Do not fear, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, And gather you from the west.

Isaiah 43:1‭-‬5 NASB

Fear not, for you will not be put to shame; And do not feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced; But you will forget the shame of your youth, And the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. “For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth.

Isaiah 54:4‭-‬5 NASB

I leave these with you in hopes they bring you comfort in knowing you are deeply loved by your Heavenly Husband. He guards you, guides you, hears you, keeps you safe.

And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what had been spoken to her by the Lord.”

Luke 1:45 NAS

~ Be Blessed

You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.

1 Thessalonians 1:6‭-‬7 NASB

Have you ever been ministering/mentoring a new believer and when they begin to joyfully walk in the Word that was given to them they immediately had trials thrust upon them?

We’re always ready to blame the enemy for these trials. I’m so guilty of this. I just did this a couple days ago. But today as I began reading this jumped out at me. And quickly I was reminded of the time when I first came boldly to the Lord and how many trials were thrown at me. I blamed the enemy believing he was trying to steal my joy, cause me to stumble. Never did I consider that these trials were placed to strengthen me and allow be to become an example to other believers.

Which explains why we rejoice in ALL things. Because we know that the Lord is strengthening us. There’s no storm or trial too big to change how this story ends.

Just a little thought from my morning study.

Be blessed.

Are we even speaking the same language?

I only speak English so if someone were to speak Spanish to me I would possibly catch a few words of what they’re saying but ultimately wouldn’t truly understand what they were trying to tell me.

This is what happens when believers try speaking to those who don’t have ears to hear or a heart to understand. Therefore they hurl insults at you because you believe something that is foreign to them.

“Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Matthew 5:11 NASB

Stand firm in your beliefs and resist responding to their insults knowing that they simply didn’t understand what you were saying.

When we get into an argument over our beliefs we both lose, when it’s done online, which we all know that’s when the powerful keyboarders come out with fingers flaring. Those who look on lose also.

Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of God not to wrangle about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness,
2 Timothy 2:14‭-‬16 NASB

Friends there will be a time for us to speak and there will be a time for us to remain silent. Pray diligently for discernment on which is which. Not everyone sees as we see nor do they wish to.

Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. Matthew 7:6 NASB

Be blessed

Words Matter

My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them And health to all their body. Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth And put devious speech far from you.

Proverbs 4:20‭-‬24 NASB

If His Words give life, what do you think happens when we have a deceitful mouth and devious speech?

We must guard what we say, sing, and think. What we hear and allow to take root in our hearts and minds MATTER.

Sharing is caring

Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat;  but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”

Luke 22:31‭-‬32 NASB

I was given this text days ago and wasn’t sure the message He wanted me to share behind it until just now.

Last night I felt led to share some of the trials that my husband and I are currently (see here) in. As I was writing I knew this would bless others as well as honor God with what He’s doing in our lives.

God is good. Always. He is working ALL things for GOOD, for those who love Him and are called for His purpose (paraphrase Romans 8:28).

My marriage has absolutely been through a season of sifting and after reading about how they sifted wheat in the old days I couldn’t be more positive that this passage is genuinely what we’ve been going through. And if I am to be His Light and Shine His love to others lost in the darkness then I’ve got to get real when I’m knee deep in the muck and mire.

Not in anger or pain but in gratitude that no matter what this flesh tries to bind me to my eyes and heart are always going to refocus and get back on my God. And because of that I TRUST in HIM and HIS promises. So I share. I share so others lost in the muck see that they too can find their hope in Christ, even though it seems they may have failed Him.

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 5:16 NASB

If you are currently in the muck know that I have prayed for you to focus your eyes back on your Father. Focus your heart back on Him who Loves you.

God is Good. Always. Trust Him. You have not been forsaken.

What shall we Do?

What will we do in times like this?

Are you seated in Christ?

Have you been born again?

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

Colossians 3:1‭-‬2 NASB

Our instructions are clear.

My son, do not forget my teaching, But let your heart keep my commandments; For length of days and years of life And peace they will add to you. Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good repute In the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones.

Proverbs 3:1‭-‬8 NASB

Lastly, hold firm to the Truth.

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33 NASB

Her sins are many…

It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all.

1 Timothy 1:15 NASB

Have you ever looked at an old picture of yourself and thought “WOW, if only people knew just how lost I was behind that smile?”

This is my current Facebook profile picture. It came up on my ‘memories’ and I thought how appropriate for the frame they have saying “Saved by His Amazing Grace” so I posted it.

I can’t stop looking at it with such gratitude. Knowing that in that moment I was an alcoholic stripper, having an emotional online affair with a married man, and had no idea who Jesus was.

For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.”

Luke 7:47 NASB

Today, 12 years later I sing His praises and rejoice at the life He redeemed me from.

He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the Lord .

Psalms 40:2‭-‬3 NASB

I don’t hide my past from others. I hope to never forget how far I’ve fallen. I desire to stay empathetic to those who are broken and lost in darkness. To show them that He is a Good God and desires that we ALL be saved through the blood of Jesus Christ.

I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins.

Isaiah 43:25 NASB

Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. You will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God. Moreover, I will save you from all your uncleanness; and I will call for the grain and multiply it, and I will not bring a famine on you.

Ezekiel 36:26‭-‬29 NASB

Then He said to her, “Your sins have been forgiven.”  And He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

Luke 7:48‭, ‬50 NASB

Sweet Words

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about. Arise, O Lord ; save me, O my God! For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.

Psalms 3:6‭-‬7 NASB

Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 NASB

I believe.
