Am I closer than you?

“You’re so close to the Lord, and I could really use some prayers”

“I know you have it in good with God, and I could really use some prayers”

These are just a couple of the messages I get when others are in need of prayer.

I’m humbled and honored to pray for them, that I’m trusted and thought of when they’re in need.

But I’ve got to be honest this idea that I am some how heard more than they are worries me.

The idea that we believe God has favorites, is heart wrenching. In His eyes He sees perfection in all His children. None more than another.

So this morning I asked Him to give me understanding so I can share the Truth with others. And as always He answered.

“You believe me and believe what you hear”

See it’s not that some are closer to God than others, it’s just that some of us trust and believe HIM more. We know His voice therefore are able to discern when He is talking versus our flesh or the enemy.

Our closeness doesn’t come from favoritism it comes from deep trust. One of my most valued life verses is Luke 1:45 “Blessed is she who believes in the promises that the Lord has spoken to her” (paraphrase)

I thought of my children to help explain this truth more.

Kayla trusts in my word. She trusts in my rules and knows that I make them out of love and protection for her. So she doesn’t question me but obeys. I never doubt that she will always make decisions based on what she has been told and what she knows I expect of her. She is easier to speak to because of her Faith in me.

Tristan listens but also needs to be told repeatedly what I expect. He is a little less believing in my rules so is excited to be an adult to test his boundaries. (He is a lot like me at his age 🤷‍♀️) Although, he is obedient, he doesn’t know my voice (rules) as closely as Kayla does and has to be told and watched more closely. He is harder to speak to because of his questions and this requires me to find different ways to assure him of my love and protection.

I love neither of them more than the other, one is just easier to speak to because one believes me and my word more than the other.

I don’t have a closer seat to our Father than others. I just believe Him and His word more.

I know His voice and I trust when He speaks to me.

I challenge you to listen to what I’ve written. Understand that the SAME POWER that was given to JESUS CHRIST is given to US. God of the Universe desires to empower YOU from WITHIN. Jesus said we will do GREATER things than HIM. It’s time you begin to study who God says YOU ARE and what He has ALREADY GIVEN TO US.

This is how you gain freedom within your mind. This is how you gain trust in who you are.
This is how your life truly changes.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.

John 10:27‭-‬28 NASB

Live by Faith, makes life sweeter

Numbers have always been used by God to speak to me. There are several passages throughout the Bible that are specific numbers that have such specific meaning to my life. This is one of them.

Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me in the shadow of Your wings
Psalms 17:8 NASB

I heard someone speak and say “You are the apple of God’s eye, you’re HIS girl” and I thought ‘imagine if that were true’.

See I was never a daddy’s girl. My dad and I were a lot alike therefore we battled for control. So to be the apple of my Daddy’s eye was foriegn to me. God knew this….. and made sure I would believe this when it was spoken. Because when I googled it to find out where it was written the numbers 17:8 is my birthdate.

See those without faith see that as a coincidence. I know my God had His hand in making sure those were the exact numbers so when my untrusting heart heard those precious words I would absolutely believe that I am indeed the apple of Gods eye.

I pray today you begin to believe the messages He sends you. I pray you believe that you are so special to God that He would indeed make sure hundreds of years ago specific numbers would be placed exactly where He needed them to say “Yup that’s specifically for you”

Trust His love for you. It’ll change your life.

None will be lost. Period.

Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father’s name, these testify of Me.  But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep.  My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;  and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.  I and the Father are one.”

John 10:25‭-‬30

This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.

John 6:39 NASB

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38‭-‬39 NASB

So many CLAIM to believe Jesus…but yet so many WORRY about those who die without knowing Him.

First of all, you do not know what occurred during the last minutes of this person’s life. Remember the parable of the workers in the field? (See Matthew 20)

Second of all, if Jesus says NONE of HIS sheep will be lost then it’s best YOU start believing in this TRUTH. Because He clearly states that those who DO NOT believe this are NOT His sheep.

Sweet Words

I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about. Arise, O Lord ; save me, O my God! For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked.

Psalms 3:6‭-‬7 NASB

Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 NASB

I believe.

Believe the Promises

“In an outburst of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, But with everlasting lovingkindness I will have compassion on you,” Says the Lord your Redeemer. “For this is like the days of Noah to Me, When I swore that the waters of Noah Would not flood the earth again; So I have sworn that I will not be angry with you Nor will I rebuke you. “For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” Says the Lord who has compassion on you. “All your sons will be taught of the Lord ; And the well-being of your sons will be great. “In righteousness you will be established; You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear; And from terror, for it will not come near you.

Isaiah 54:8‭-‬10‭, ‬13‭-‬14 NASB

Sometimes you read something and you just need to make sure it’s seen in BOLD writing.

So many today are filled with fear and doubt and yet they praise Jesus. If only they would BELIEVE what He has promised.

And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what had been spoken to her by the Lord.”

Luke 1:45 NASB

If you’re reading this and you have fear and worry please spend time in prayer today. Read Isaiah 54 in its entirety. Believe the words that are spoken to you. Trust you found this blog specifically so you would hear what He HAS promised.

God loves you. He desires for you to believe HIM.

Pursue Love

My husband and I are going through the first book of Corinthians. Today we are on chapter 14. I haven’t been able to get past the first few lines. Heck the first two words had my mind in a stand still. “Pursue love” Immediately I hear “God is Love” So I read it “Pursue God”. These two words will change a person’s life. I am a witness to this truth. Yet many still go about their days repeating the same chaotic cycle of defeat. Whether physically or mentally, but mostly spiritually. They say they love God, and I believe many do. Only they haven’t fully understood what true love is. The world has caused them so many heartaches that makes “true love” almost impossible to imagine. When a person is “in love” according to the worlds standards they “feel” a certain way.

The problem with this “feeling” is it fades and then we question if it was ever real to begin with. I believe this is why so many couples fail. Once they come down from the euphoric feeling they see with new eyes and decide to walk away in search for that “feeling” all over again.

What if we sought to have that feeling we have in a relationship towards God? You know the one where you’re constantly thinking about Him, checking your Facebook and phone to see if He’s said anything. Everyday you can hear Him whisper sweet words into your heart, if only you’d pick up your Bible. You could receive beautiful handcrafted art, if only you’d see His hand in the sunrise or sunset. You’d receive endless bouquets of flowers, trees, and plants; if only you’d admit that He created them just for YOU.

Pursue love….with Valentine’s Day approaching I challenge you to pursue the Love that will never forsake you, that will never lie to you, and that will always keep His promises. Pursue God with ALL your mind, heart, and strength and I assure you it will be an everlasting kind of LOVE! Be Blessed!

Do you not know that YOU are the HOME of the Holy Spirit?

One day in your temple is better than a thousand anywhere else. I would rather serve in your house, than live in the homes of the wicked. Psalms 84:10CEV*

*disclaimer: Please know I know the context of the Psalm 84:10; I just felt it important to share with you what I just heard from the Lord as I read it.

First, I’d like to remind us of what 1 Corinthians 6:19 says: Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; (NIV)

The Holy Spirit of God, which lived within Jesus as He walked our earth, now, lives inside of you and I. (if you are born again, See John 3 for explanation of what this means) This morning I read the above verse like this “One day in your temple, Crystal, is better than a thousand elsewhere.” It still hits me with a quickening from within, that causes my eyes to instantly tear reading it like that. Why? Because friends, I struggle daily believing that God, the living almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth would CHOOSE to live within ME! But see as quickly as I wanted to argue with what I heard within my spirit this morning, He, my Papa reminded me of the scripture that confirms that He IS talking to me, by using my earthly Dad’s birthday 6/19.

But being who I am, I couldn’t just hold onto this. I know that I have many many many lady friends on my Facebook page that need to know that GOD…..the Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth LONGS….truly LONGS…DESIRES for YOU to KNOW deep within that HE LOVES LOVES LOVES YOU. When a man rejects you and you have that aching pain from within that cries out “why won’t they love me?” This is what Jesus feels when He sees you turn from the goodness He daily tries to give to you.

He doesn’t want us to feel this pain, this is why He became man and died for us. He took away that wrath, the pain, it’s all gone and accounted for. We just have to believe it. WANT it. And when I say believe it, I mean believe that we deserve the God quality of LOVE & LIFE.

Friends, this is being read my men also, and I want you to hear what I am saying also. Everything about YOU that you try to hide or mask because it seems to out of the norm….that is His unique fingerprint that He places within ONLY YOU. Please do not keep that from US. In Luke 19:11-27 & Matthew 25:14-30 Jesus talks about those who are given different amounts of talents/money. Those of us with the small amount believe that what we have isn’t worth much so we keep it hidden….and friends can I please tell you this breaks the heart of Jesus. He CHOSE us to rise up, and the small piece of Him that He has placed within us….if I may be so bold to say immolates the life that HE CHOSE here on earth.

He chose to be born to a common family, whom had to flee for their lives from the King of the Nation. GOD the CREATOR of the WORLD, chose to be a no-one, to save everyone. Please do not think, believe, or walk out in disbelief from what I am writing to you, what Jesus told me as I lay on the ground after being touched by the Holy Spirit.

He LOVES US so deeply, and LONGS for us to LOVE HIM the way that He loves us.

SO this morning as I read, ““One day in your temple, Crystal, is better than a thousand elsewhere.” I heard (hear) Him saying all over again “That’s MY girl” I pray that you will read this and add your name and allow His words penetrate your heart and KNOW truly how much He desires to have an intimate relationship with you.

And if you haven’t been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and think this isn’t for you, I want you to read this:

The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and they are life. Yet there are some of you who do not believe. This is I tell you that NO ONE CAN COME TO ME UNLESS THE FATHER HAS ENABLED THEM. (John 6:63,64a,65 emphasis and paraphrase mine [yet remember who lives within me])

Your physical actions do not keep the Fathers love and desire for you to be in Union with Him away. He IS calling YOU RIGHT NOW. And will continue to call you each and everyday, all day. Come to Him… Cry out to Him right now. Ask Jesus for the Life He designed for you…and invite the Holy Spirit into your body, temple, life. Praying for you now!

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you WILL be saved. It is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10:9,10

Listen more and talk less

Genesis 22:2: God said, “Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love. And go to the land of Moriah. Give him as a burnt gift on the altar in worship, on one of the mountains I will show you.” (NLV)

This passage is very dear to me. This was the message spoken on November 7th & 8th 2009 at my church; the day that I had become baptized with The Holy Spirit of God. (What I associate as my born again birthday.) So anytime that God has me come back to this passage I know that there is a special message He is speaking to me. Last night as I struggled with a Word He had spoken to me, one that I have heard Him say for a few years now; He brought me back to this passage. (He also brought it up again today in a devotional…sometimes He knows I need a few reminders.) As I read this again He gave me understanding as to what I have been doing wrong. And why it has been over two years since He first gave me this command and I have yet to follow it through. I hope I can relay this message clearly so that you can avoid delaying in the commands that God gives you.

What I noticed last night was Abraham never spoke what it was that God has told Him to do. Not even in when Isaac had asked Him about what they were to use for a sacrifice in verse 8. He simply replied God will provide. I believe the reason this occurred was because had He repeated what it was that God had commanded Him to do others would have tried to talk him out of it. I mean c’mon who would ever believe that God would ask him to kill the only child he had. The child that God himself gave him. Surely Abraham must’ve heard Him incorrectly.

Well-meaning friends sometimes cause us a stumbling block when trying to “help”. Remember Job’s friends that came to “help” Job repent of his sin so that God would no longer punish him? Only later to find out that they were absolutely incorrect and later had to ask Job to forgive them. Now these friends knew the Word of God also, and I believe they truly meant well. But they were wrong. And what about when Jesus told the disciples that he would be killed and then after 3 days be raised back to life. Peter, the one He had told only moments before that He would build his church upon, pulls Jesus aside and begins to rebuke Jesus and says “Never, Lord! This shall never happen to you!” In reply Jesus says “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.” Ouch!

I believe there will be times when we need to seek Counsel of wise friends, but then there are times when we must Trust and have Faith in our God and keep silent about what the Lord has told us. There are things that do not make sense to others, heck probably not even to us. But this is when we need to hold on to what we know to be true and step out in Faith.

I want to encourage you to listen more and talk less. God will guide you and protect you all of the days and never will He forsake you. Even when others do.

~soemtimes I just gotta write~

Just because I can’t ‘feel’ Gods presence doesn’t mean I am unable to ‘see’ His hands.

I am in a dry season. When I say this I mean the Living Water, or The Holy Spirit, isn’t flowing through me as I would like Him to. But bc of the previous times in my life where I have sat on mountain tops and allowed Him to flow graciously through me unto my family and friends I am able to TRUST that He is still here, reaching for me. Acting within my life. I have recently noticed an abundance of woman devotionals that have been speaking of being in a “pit” or their chosen scriptures have been speaking of crying out to God to rescue them. This is how I can ‘see’ Him, although I cannot ‘feel’ Him. Ladies, we must FIRST believe ‘in’ God, then we MUST ‘believe’ God. There IS a difference, and its this difference that will save you when the world seems to be falling apart around you. The ONLY way you can believe Him is to KNOW Him, not just know of Him. And you can only KNOW Him by spending time with Him, reading His Word. There is no other way to know.someone without spending time with them. So if you want to be able to stand when the world around you is shaking, then do what needs to be done to make sure you have TIME getting to know the Only One who LOVES you more than His own life.

Gossiping…is it worth it?

The link below is the devotional that inspired the comment to those on my FB page…and the continued writing.

Do you Gossip? I can tell you more of you do than you don’t…and its got to STOP! Whether you’re mad at someone or not God commands us NOT to speak evil against our neighbours. We are no longer in high school, its time to grow up and stop thinking we’re better than someone else bc we don’t sin the way they have. I’m sorry but NO ONE, including myself can throw stones at ANYONE— so value your friendships by refraining from gossiping about someone when they’re taking time out of their life to spend with you. Let’s get back to the Main Thing which is bringing those to the Cross!!! I love all of you….wish you loved me the same by keeping my ears and heart pure from the toxicity of gossip!!! Trust me I don’t need any extra help sinning, I do just fine on my own.

Dear Friends,

Yesterday I wrote a post about gossiping, and as much as I stand behind what I wrote I feel as if I need to apologize to those of you who consider me a friend. See I am a writer, nothing professional, but still at heart I love to write. I don’t write about things that aren’t true, I write what my heart has either gone through or is currently going through. Typically I won’t or can’t write until there’s a mess load of situations that have basically overloaded in my head and I am in need of purging. I have plenty of journals and even more writings on my computers to attest to this.

But every now and then I will get the perfect devotional to trigger everything I have been trying to find a way to say it without hurting anyone’s feelings. Only today I feared I may have hurt a friend who would think this was solely about them. So I have to apologize to all of my friends who have shared anything with me that makes you think I am talking only to you. I can assure you my personal experiences are small compared to what I see happening around me in the lives of Faithful Christian women. Just bc I’m not in your conversation doesn’t mean my ears aren’t listening. See here’s a secret that only you will know about me….I actually care deeply about not wanting to hurt my friends. Their trust in me, means a GREAT deal. I take great honor in someone being able to trust me with their deepest secrets or feelings. It’s that good ole saying “Treat others how you want to be treated” I believe if I can be the friend that I desire in someone, I will get that friend in return.

There’s something that I have learned over the years though; having a friend that knows all your dirt leaves you feeling vunerable. Not many of us like to feel this way, myself included. Eventually over time if communication gets pulled back bc of insecure feelings ab this relationship, it’s only a matter of time before there is a disagreement that causes a major drift between the two of you. Let me just say from experience this time apart is not always a bad thing, it’s usually needed. What matters is how you spend your time thinking about this relationship. If you play the event over and over again (which for me is inevitible) you have to be careful not to maintain the anger or create more anger. Otherwise you could wind up losing someone very special, as well as creating a root of bitterness that can be very toxic to your happiness. Instead take sometime to detox from the situation. Once I can think ab the person without getting that anxious feeling within me that’s when I know I’m ready to do the hard part.

Ask myself if they were right. Bet you thought I was going to say forgive them. Forgiving someone is hard, but I have found that it’s harder to forgive someone when I’m hell bent on being right. So I need to know first if they were right. I will always think I am right, and anyone I choose to tell what happened will nine times out of ten agree with me. I mean we all know that’s why we told them to begin with, right?

Can I share another secret that I’ve realized over the years that helps with this self analyzation? You both have something to learn, change, and gain from this argument; and any other encounter you have with someone. We all have a purpose in this life, and we are all the star of our own lives. Therefore, nothing you do in life is wasted…unless you choose to waste it. Whether they were right or not doesn’t matter as much as that time you take exploring the possiblity. See I have found that we will all have a few profound relationships that stretch us to be more than we are. When you meet one of these people hold onto them with love and respect. Bc they are being used, just as much as you are in their lives, for a greater purpose. Even if the relationship ends painfully with betrayal or broken trust, at one point this person saw a part of you that made you love them, and they you. Honor THAT moment in your friendship, even when it ends. Bc it’s during those moments of pain when another person will out of no where come into your life, sometimes subtly without even knowing it they are picking up the pieces of your heart fumbling their way around trying to help mend it. How you speak about this past friendship will display a character trait about who you are as a friend.

Now please do not get me wrong, there are times when most of us can hear someone speaking with a broken heart and can blow it off as pure emotions. But there does come a point ladies (and men if any of you are reading this) when these emotions become toxic and begin to taint your other relationships. This is why negative gossip about past friends or someone you hardley know causes so much damage….not so much to the person you’re talking about, but more to you.

Without realizing it the constant talking about this situation or person, might cause the one listening to pull away. There are many reasons for this. They could simply be over hearing about the same old complaint or maybe they are fearful of investing in a friendship that could leave them on the other end of the coin. We all know that there has been a time when we’ve messed up in our friendships. Why then would someone want to chance messing up and being the one whose dirty laundry gets aired to anyone who will listen? Whether you are a Christian woman or not we all want to have good friends. The best way to get that is by always being a good friend, whether the relationship has ended or not.Ladies lets stop wasting time with yesterdays garbage and start living today for today. Let’s start pointing our fingers towards our own lives, thoughts, and hearts. Let’s be the friend we want to have…even when the friendship has ended. .
