Freedom isn’t a feeling.

Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
John 8:34‭-‬36 NASB

So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
John 8:31‭-‬32 NASB

This morning two different teachers of mine posted these verses. This was the order that I read them in. So I wanted to share them how I read them.

There was also a comment under the son vs slave one because she asked “Are you a slave or a son?” One gentleman replied and said he knows he’s a son but doesnt always feel like one.

I know this season in life so well. I used to read the scriptures until sunrise in tears weeping; being bound by my guilt and emotions. Knowing that the Scriptures said I was free but I felt anything but.

It wasn’t until God plucked me up out of my father’s home (current church) and brought me to a teacher who focused on our eternal identity using ONLY the scriptures. Which was a prayer I had been praying for months. The spirit within me knew there was freedom within those pages. But the enemy bound on my back kept me blinded from BELIEVING them.

Freedom is NOT a feeling.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5 NASB

for we walk by faith, not by sight-
2 Corinthians 5:7 NASB

Our identity as born again believers is SEATED IN CHRIST. This makes absolutely no sense because my body is sitting on my back porch writing this blog. Therefore I MUST believe that my identity is NOT my flesh.

However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
Romans 8:9 NASB

The problem today with Christian’s who continually suffer emotionally is a BELIEF in their IDENTITY.

They remain on that cross, they remain in their flesh, they refuse to RISE with Christ as a NEW CREATION. They are continually trying to pour new wine into their old wine skins and time after time it bursts and the emotions take them captive.

They are prisoners by choice.

Ouch… I know. It hurts to tell someone that. But it’s TRUE.

If you have confessed Jesus is Lord and been baptized into His death and still suffer emotionally, then it’s time you get off of that cross and out of the curse and into your true identity, which is seated IN Christ and IN Christ there is NO sin.

No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1 John 3:9 NASB

We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.
1 John 5:18 NASB

We either believe all of the scriptures or we believe non of it.

These above truths have had many fellow Christian’s walk away from me, as well as pray against my belief in them. Want to know what I did? I prayed that they would be freed from the fear of claiming their freedom IN CHRIST. And most have.

My flesh is filthy and will always be. I cannot cleanse it and take it with me. My identity is NOT my flesh. I do not own the emotions that come from this flesh. I make them abide by the Spirit & Truth that I have hidden in my heart. I submit ALL thoughts (even the seemingly good ones) to Christ before claiming them as my own.

My freedom is NOT a feeling.

It is a BELIEF in what He has done & said.

Friends, your suffering although it may be from factual situations, it doesn’t have to be filled with darkness. We can mourn righteously. We can also rejoice in all things. Knowing where our home is and where we will one day be.

Your suffering is from a lack of belief. I pray for you to ask your Father for belief to help with your understanding of what has already been written for us. I pray for you to know deep within your being that YOU ARE FREE FROM THE CURSE. YOU ARE HOLY, RIGHTEOUS, AND CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN.

YOUR SAVIOR HAS ALREADY FINISHED THE WORK. ITS TIME FOR YOU TO BELIEVE.

And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what had been spoken to her by the Lord.”
Luke 1:45 NASB

But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
